Particles 2005 is an international conference examining the science, technology, and business aspects of particle surface modification in different application areas including chemical and drug delivery, chemical and biochemical diagnostics, nano and micro encapsulation for stabilization, modification, and controlled release, thin and nanostructured film formation, and advanced materials fabrication. The conference targets practicing scientists and engineers, managers, innovators, and entrepreneurs, and embraces the theme "surface modification for added value and advanced features and material properties." Contributed papers on particle surface modification are solicited in this First Call for Papers for the upcoming Particles 2005 conference on Surface Modification in Particle Technology, being held in San Francisco 13-16 August 2005. The primary oral program presents approximately 30 authorities addressing various technical aspects of particle surface modification and the start-up business and tech-transfer challenges associated with reducing such chemistries to marketable products.
